​The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office has conducted an extensive water-based search; however, no trace of Emily has been found. The investigation appears to be limited to the assumption of a water accident, and officials have publicly stated they are resource constrained. As such, a criminal route will not be pursued unless new evidence indicative of foul play arises. Emily's case is thus open but inactive. How is new evidence found if it is not being searched for? Despite numerous requests by the family, requests for investigative assistance from outside agencies have not been granted.

The 5200 petition signatures presented to the MT Attorney General in Aug. of 2025 apparently have come to naught. Given the anomalies in the case and Emily's nature, we continue to believe a full criminal investigation is warranted.
